SLEIP GAIT ANALYSIS

Cutting-Edge AI Technology for Equine Gait Assessment

At Cotswold Equine Physio, we’re proud to offer Sleip Gait Analysis — a high-precision, AI-powered tool that objectively assesses your horse’s movement patterns using nothing more than a simple video.

This advanced technology is used by veterinary professionals worldwide to detect even the most subtle asymmetries and gait irregularities. Whether you’re managing a known issue, monitoring recovery, or looking to optimise performance, Sleip provides measurable insights that complement hands-on assessment and clinical findings.

How It Works

Using just an iPhone, we record short clips of your horse in motion (walk and trot, in hand or on the lunge). The footage is uploaded to the Sleip platform, which analyses the gait in real time, identifying:

  • Symmetry and stride parameters

  • Forelimb and hindlimb deviations

  • Weight-bearing differences

  • Movement patterns over time

The data is then interpreted alongside your horse’s physical exam and history, allowing for more informed treatment planning, earlier intervention, and clear progress tracking.

Why Choose Gait Analysis?

  • Objective insight into subtle lameness or compensatory movement

  • Useful for complex or multi-limb issues where asymmetries are hard to pinpoint

  • Ideal for performance horses, rehab cases, or second-opinion assessments

  • Track progress over time with repeat scans

  • Vet referrals supported when needed

Integrated with Physiotherapy

As a qualified veterinary physiotherapist, I use Sleip gait analysis to back up my findings, support vet collaboration, and tailor treatment plans. It’s a valuable tool for spotting issues before they escalate — or identifying areas that need targeted rehab.

Booking a Session

Sleip Gait Analysis is available with our Intermediate and Advanced physiotherapy sessions or can be booked as a standalone consultation. If you’re unsure whether it’s right for your horse, just get in touch — I’ll be happy to advise.
